The contact owns a 1995 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to make a turn, the vehicle would shake abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis but the failure was unable to be determined. The contact also stated that smoke emitted from the brakes when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the parking brake had failed and would not disengage. The failure mileage was unknown.

Suffered complete brake failure, pedal went to the floor approaching traffic at a red light. I had to jump the curbs and drive off the road to avoid a collision with the stopped cars. I was able to down shift and use the parking brake to stop the car and limp to a repair shop (at slow speed using the parking brake). They found a spit in the steel brake line just below the radiator that led to the catastrophic loss of brakes.
