Gas tank burst a spraying leak of fuel at the side filler tube connector without an accident occuring. Approximately five gallons of fuel sprayed out, causing fuel to run out on the bottom of the chassis and dripping out on the sides of the car. My wife's shoes and feet were soaked with gasoline from just standing by the car. This leak is not from a breather tube at the top of the tank. This leak is at the middle right side of the tank at the filler tube connection. Has a recall been recognized? this could be disasterous in an impact auto crash! the fire department was called out to assist the potentially hazardous fuel spraying.
