The contact states there is a NHTSA recall campaign 99V250000 concerning the front seat belt anchorage. This vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to VIN. The rear passenger seat belt had the same problem. It worked enough to hold a child safety seat securely, but will not come out all of the way. The vehicle has not been repaired. Updated 01/25/06.

My seat belt (drivers side)does not retract real well you have to push it back into the side wall of the car. I have noticed that other VIN numbers have had a recall but not mine. I called Ford in Michigan to ask them how to get a recall started and they told me that I can not. Then I asked them to fix my problem free of charge and they told me if I wanted it fixed that I would have to pay for it. I told them that it was a safty issue and that they should have to pay for it free of charge.
