The air bag light behind the steering wheel comes on at random occasions. After starting the car in cool wet weather, or after the 3rd or 4th stop in a series of errands. It stays on until I turn the ignition off. After turning the ignition on again, sometimes it stays on again, and much of the time it goes off after the initial computer check. Of course the dealer says they cannot do anything unless it is on all of the time. So what does it mean when it decides to stay on" will it not deploy in the event of an accident"

At 40 mph the 4 wheel antilock brakes on my 2005 Ford Mustang locked up when I was attempting to stop at a stop light, causing my car to hydroplane into the back of a Dodge pickup. The engine in my car was driven back into the fire wall upon impact; however, my air bag system failed resulting in more serious injuries to me.
