My hood has corrosion on tip of front passenger side. I took it to dealer Norris Ford, they did nothing. A body shop told me it would be very expensive to repair. I wrote Ford Motor letter, did not get response. I was just searching web & seen class action suit filed in New Jersey. Would love to know how to become a part of that, or if I already am? No clear ways to get answer.. Any help????

Began noticing corrosion in several locations on the hood above the headlight as well as at the rear of the hood near the windshield in late June/early July 2012. Contacted local dealership as well as Ford Customer Service and was advised that since my "extended warranty of 6/60 had expired early June 2012, the problem would not be corrected. Did research and found the TSB indicating the bubbling and blistering were a result of iron contamination in the aluminum hood PRIOR TO PAINTING. This is definitely a Ford issue and should absolutely be corrected by them as a manufacturer's defect which their TSB openly admits. I sent a letter to Ford Customer Care with multiple pictures of my vehicle in July 2013 and never received a response. Have since discovered a class action lawsuit has been filed. Ford should be required to take care of this.

I noticed the corrosion about 2 years after I bought the car. It started as 2 very small areas toward the rear of the hood. I had hoped it just would not get any bigger. Today I have about 4 sq inches of corrosion below the paint and I also noticed today the paint has cracked to reveal a primer (or metal?) Obviously this is just going to get bigger and uglier.

My 2006 Mustang began to rust at 2 1/2 yrs or so. We told Apple Ford - they said they had made a note and to bring it in for them to see (mind you that I have it serviced regularly there and they knew it was rusting). I didn't get it in until my next service time which put me at just over the 3 year mark and they said so sorry, won't fix it as 3 year warranty up (although I purchased the 5 year extended warranty). Now the car is at 4 1/2 years old, rusting hood peeling paint and they still refuse to fix it. I was told that Ford knows that the 2006 Mustangs are rusting and won't fix them. They know it is a manufactures defect and ignore it.

Paint bubbling on front edge of hood. Told by ford that even though it has an aluminum hood, that metal flakes had gotten into the paint and caused the bubbling. They know it was their fault but refused to repair the problem. Just bought a 2014 Dodge truck. would have bought a Ford if they would have repaired this problem. Going to trade the Mustang next year won't be for a Ford unless they do something by then.
