Mustang GT Deluxe 4.6L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

Ever since I got the car in 2008 from the dealer, when you go for full acceleration, about 75% of the time it waits for about 1 second before actually accelerating. When you are in a high traffic area or someone is giving you the go ahead, it can cause a huge wreck.

I actually almost got in one in 2011 from this problem. I hit the accelerator but not fully, and all of the sudden the engine goes full acceleration as I am making a left turn on a small street. I let off the gas and tried to keep the car in straight line but the power coming off the engine made me spin out and almost hit 2 parked cars. I got lucky.

Mustang GT 4.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,980 miles

While driving to Palm Springs for dinner one night, I am stopped at a stop light. Then when it turns green, I step on the accelerator and the car felt like it was going to die...then it picked up. Definitely startled me. I have felt this before but not to that extreme. I have read that it may be the fuel pump needs replacing.
