The contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the seat belt warning light failed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the instrument cluster was replaced. The failure recurred approximately three years later. The contact also stated that the turn signal indicator would blink very rapidly whenever a turn signal was engaged. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer and the cables which control the rear lights were replaced. In addition, the contact stated that the battery would drain very rapidly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and a large battery was installed as a replacement, but the failure continued. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that water was leaking in through the firewall. As a result, this was the source of all of the electrical problems. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 1,800.

Went to drive my 3 and a half year old Mustang to work the other day after a big rainstorm. Noticed a musty mold smell but assumed it was nothing. As I drove my car up my driveway, (a slight incline) gallons of water spilled out from under the dashboard on the passenger side behind the glove box. Used a carpet extractor to vacuum up over 2 gallons of water (no kidding, emptied 1 gallon extractor tank 3 times) brought the car to the dealership where it was purchased and was informed that the car needed a repair that was outlined in a technical service bulletin from Ford, but because my car was no longer under warranty, I would be responsible for paying for the repair -and that the GEM module needed to be replaced as the water had poured into and damaged it. The price for this, not including replacing the ruined carpet and pad or the rusted seat mounting brackets was over $1100. It says right in the tsb from Ford that this issue is caused by gaps in the sealant around drainage grommets inside the firewall, yet somehow this is the customers problem"?" researching online I've encountered hundreds of horror stories from other owners with the same issue, but Ford has been denying this since at least 2005. (6 years!!) they need to be forced to recall these vehicles as it is painfully obvious that they refuse to do so voluntarily... the 3 year old vehicle is now a moldy health hazard and I'm told that it's just a matter of time before the electrical problems begin.thank you for providing me a forum to vent my frustrations over my "swamp buggy" as I have gotten no satisfaction anywhere else. Rain leaks into the car and cause S all manner of problems in the fuse box. Lights stay on or do not work, car cuts out on the freeway. Cruise control works intermittently. Windows may go up and down and then stay half down for some time.

2007 manufacturing defect: Extensive leaking of water into electrical components. Causing lights to go off, or sometimes go on without switching on, windows go up and down by themselves, occasionally motor cuts out on highway, cruise control operates intermittently. Eventually this will also result in premature structural damage.

Own a 2007 Ford Mustang. Car has won't start once in a while. It hasn't started about 15-20 times in a two month period. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting, car finally starts. It only seems to happen when its a really hot day. Called two dealerships and both said don't bother bringing car in unless it comes in on the back of a tow truck. They said otherwise, they probably can't figure out what's wrong. Need help!
