A complete failure of the electrical system due to a design flaw where a main electrical wire harness inside the firewall on the drivers side fills up with water over time and soaks the wire harness causing a complete failure of the car to operate. This leading to a breakdown in traffic and dangerous necessity to get out into traffic to escape electrical smoke.

As I was driving approximately 65mph/hour I hear a slight popping noise come from the from passenger tire and then followed the tires pressure dash light illuminated. I pulled off the road at my first opportunity. My ture had gone completely flat with out hitting any bumps or pot holes. I put the spare on and returned home. My boyfriend inspected the tire using soapy water and realized the air was escaping from the rim wall (str P245/40 R20) and not the tire itself. Upon further inspection we realized many stress factures on the rim on all four tires not just the one that lost all the air originally. I replaced my tires pirelli all season plus and scorpion verde tires with my stock tires. I researched the tires for a recall and noticed a recall on other tires that were the same make and model just different sizes had the same issue, a failed rim wall causing it to break off causing accidents, that my aftermarket tires were having. My tires are experiencing the same issue as the recalled pirellis so therefore I have not been using my tires for fear the other 3 tires will also worsen and cause an accident. Str P245/75 R 20 and str P245/40/ R20 all season plus and scorpion verde models also the seat belt light never turns off even when the seat belts are properly engaged which causes a beeping while driving.

Car was parked in my driveway and after a rain storm I noticed the passenger floor was soaked with water. Water leaks in from the cabin air filter and drips onto the fuse junction box on the passenger side of the car. When drain holes in cowl gets clogged water builds up and then pours in the cabin filter then into passenger side flooding carpet. As water drips down it makes contact with the F J B and starts to mess with the electrical parts, ie power windows go up and down by themselves, dash light won't shut off, radio will not turn off and convertible roof keeps trying to go up and down. Only fix is to replace and reprogram the fjb but Ford no longer makes this part because of the known issues. I am told either to wait for replacement unit to be developed or buy a used one and hope it will work either way still have to pay $400 for part and $250 for reprogramming. This is a known problem that is being passed onto the consumer.this has happened to not 1 but both of my Mustangs 2005 and 2007, same style with same problems

I was driving on the highway at approximately 60 mph. Without any warning the horn started blowing. It startled me and the drivers of several of the automobiles near me. Apparently, other drivers thought there was some emergency. I took the next available exit from the highway and pulled over at a safe place. I turned the ignition off and the horn stopped blowing. I started the car and pulled onto the street and the horn again started blowing. After stopping and starting again, the horn stopped blowing. The next day I took the car to the Ford dealer. They indicated that everything was "working properly at this time". they said that the "most common part failure is the drivers side module to start." The price quote was $1058.48 to replace the air bag module. I have removed the horn relay temporarily, but I am fearful that possibly the air bag will deploy while I'm driving. It would seem that in any case, this is a dangerous situation. I would be interested in knowing if this is a problem for others and what if anything I should do about this.

The smart junction box on my 2007 Ford Mustang short circuited due to a manufacturer's defect which causes the passenger side front kick panel to flood. There is a rubber stopper which regulates water flow into the engine compartment during rain storms. The stopper is located under the windshield wipers near the cabin air filter. When the stopper becomes clogged due to the elements, it floods the area and sends water in through the cabin air filter. The water will then pour directly on an electrical unit - the smart junction box. The smart junction box controls all the lights in the car, the horn, the alarm, and a few auxiliary items. Due to the manufacturer's oversight my car has a malfunctioning horn and alarm. I wrote directly to Ford and called their customer care line about this concern; Ford does not recognize this as an at fault safety issue at this time. Multiple forums that I've found online will support that I'm not the only one who has experienced this safety issue. Thank you.

This has been a recurring problem that I have been experiencing for quite awhile. I was researching a lunge problem, discovered it is frequently happening to others. It happens when I am going a very slow speed. It has happened in traffic many times which is scary, in my housing developments, we have speed bumps so you must drive slowly and making turns. It just immediately all shuts down and the car stops. I actually try to avoid traffic on freeway because it has happened so many times. I have discussed, in the past, this with my mechanic various times and made sure everything in my car is fine. I have replaced everything and my car is well maintained. Extremely dangerous.

I was driving my husband's 2007 Ford Mustang when after sitting at a red light, I accelerated and all of a sudden the car lost all power. The steering wheel locked up, there was no lights on in the car and the car just died. Luckily I was able to coast to the left and use all of my strength to turn the wheel into a drive and stop the car. I put the car in park and called my husband right away. At the time, he said it had never happened to him. I let the car sit and he came in my car to get me. I refused to drive it after that. He was able to start the car and drive it home. He has been driving it since and he himself has had this experience where the car just dies in the middle of driving. We thought the battery was the cause because of the electrical so we replaced it but with the new GM recalls and because I know that most manufacturers buy parts from the same suppliers, this has me worried and I am thinking this could be a bigger issue that what we know. To this day, we drive my car wherever we go. I do not like using his car at all. We were nervous about taking the car to the dealership from past experiences as the dealerships only like to fix things that they can duplicate and we know this was not going to be duplicated. In 6 years it has happened twice.

Walk out to my car Saturday morning, battery was dead. I decided to buy a new battery. I installed it then went to a store. As I was coming back home, a fire started on the inside of the passenger side. I tried to make it home, but the smoke was getting to me, my windows wouldn't work. I finally made it home by that time a fire started blazing. I yelled at my wife to get a fire extinguisher. I manage to put out the flames. I have read on the web that numerous cars as mine has had the same problem. How come nothing has been done?? is Ford just a big giant of a business that no one can touch them. If it was wasn't for us stupid people buying their product, they wouldn't have a business.

I had a 2005 Mustang and could never figure out why it leaked everytime it rained, thinking it was just a problem with that car, I eventually went out and bought a 2007 Mustang, and the first heavy rain after I purchased the car, the same thing.. water pouring out from under the glove box on to the floor board and now parts of the radio are not working. I have always since a little girl be in love with Ford Mustangs and considering the continuing problem with the leaks its almost not worth it to purchase a Mustang. Ford knows about the problem and will do nothing about. I was told it was more common on the 05-09 models but from what I gather its a problem with most even the newer models. Im at a lost as of what to do.. im seriously thinking about getting rid of the car. And knowing that so many other people have this problem makes me sick.. dear Ford its your mistake, so fix it.

My 2007 Ford Mustang has had a water leak under the passenger side area that has and is still causing electrical shortage in the car. Everytime it rains water gets into the vehicle and causes major damage. Ford dealership will not repair it under warranty and my out of pocket expenses to fix this problem would be enormous. This water leak is a tsb on Ford's site which means they know something is wrong with the 05-09 models. My car is now out of commision and will not start. I have replaced two batteries over the last year because of the water leak causing shortages in my car. This car is now a lemon beccause of the severe water damage Ford has caused my vehicle to receive. I have a vehicle that will not start and Ford will not repair without payment. I am sending this complaint so that a recall can be issused so I can repair my car. Ford knows there is a major problem and has done nothing about this. This is a $35,000 vehicle and only 5 years old and the engine won't even start. This issue is a major electrical hazard and is a danger to myself and my children.

Horn stopped working approximately 3 months before diagnosis. The dealership diagnosed a water intrusion that damaged the main wiring loom and smart junction box. It was determined the water intrusion was a result of loose grommets and/or sealer skips around the cowl area, loose A-pillar window weather stripping retainer, misaligned body harness grommet through the firewall or misaligned body harness grommet from the passenger door as per tsb 08 26 7 and tsb 07-14-06. Total cost for the repair was $3,839.44 just to fix a horn.

Day after a rain a rain storm heard water dripping then I was going up a small hill and I heard water pouring. I looked over at the passenger side and saw water flowing in by the glove box. I pulled over and saw about 3 inches of water on the passenger side floor. Dropped car off 5 min later as dealer ship is on my way to work found passenger side door seal leaking replaced at cost of 320$ because car was just out of warranty but miles are only 35250 miles. Now my shaker 500 audio won't recognize aux audio. Going to bring back and complain. I found this to be a common problem after some research and that Ford knows about it. I think this problem is because of the change in the door design with the short drop window and no full frame around the window. What makes this worse for me is my brother has a 1988 Mustang X police car that has original seals and weather striping and has never had a problem at over 100,000 miles.
