Mustang 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I cannot refuel unless tank is under half full. Even then it sometimes will only refuel at the lowest speed the pump will go. Its definitely a real pain in the winter when you have to manually pump it yourself. Pump to fast and the back pressure will shut off the pump. I would appreciate any replies to this problem.

Mustang GT V8

Very difficult to refuel this car. Dealer cannot fix it, Ford refuses to fix it. They know there is a problem. They tell me try another service station no difference. They also tell me to turn nozzle at different angles helps a little. You cannot fully engage the pump it will shut off as in full tank but you only put in a few gallons. This a junk car I seldom use it I have called Ford over and over and get the same answer sent me a bulletin on how to put fuel in it .

UNABLE TO COMPLETE REFUELING NORMALLY, I MUST BARELY OPEN THE FUELING NOZZLE TO CONTINUE FILLING AFTER 7 TO 8 GALLONS. BY REFUELING AT THIS LOW SPEED, IT OVERRIDES THE FUEL SHUTOFF ON THE NOZZLE WHICH CAN RESULT IN AN OVERFLOW ONTO THE CAR AND GROUND. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE
