When driving my vehicle on a strait level road doing 25 mph I tapped the brakes then my traction control light came on and the car began to surge forward and back. I tried to accelerate but the car was having issues. When I went to pull over I pressed the brake and it was hard like a rock and was pulsating, I then kicked the brake pedal as hard as I could and everything returned to normal. I took it to my local Ford dealer for the 3rd time and they said no problem found.

Approx. 1-2 times a month, after leaving my house and driving a short, paved street going to the main road, my advancetrac light on the dash will start blinking, indicating the stability control system has been activated. Along with this the right front brake will be activated by the ABS system. Typically will happen for 10-15 seconds then as I come to a stop to turn on to the main road it will stop. When I then turn on to the main road, as I am accelerating, this will happen again. Sometimes the brake pulsating the front right wheel is light and not too intrusive. Sometimes, if accelerating hard enough, the system will cut engine power, and alternately pulsate the front right and rear left brakes, nearly pulling me out of my lane, as I fight to drive straight. Again this lasts for about 10-15 seconds. After which car behaves perfectly fine, like it never happened. It never leaves any diagnostic codes in the computer system, or any trace that it ever happened, the Ford techs have never been able to replicate the problem, and I can not make it happen on command. Is totally random.

Mustang 8-cyl

  • 700 miles
When I am braking at about 3-5 mph the car will lunge forward (feels like I was rear ended but no cars behind me) occasionally I will go to accelerate and can't get above 15 mph I have to turn the car off and back on then it's fine. The air bag light off for the passenger seat will come on even with a 250 lb person sitting there, I have had people try to shift their weight but it still comes on after 5 minutes of driving it goes away. The peddle pressure to the brakes feel low and I have tapped my brakes and the ABS activated causing the brakes pulsate at 25 mph. The driver side engine will intermediately sequel and the car will idle extremely rough, it does it mostly at idle but I have had it happen at a stop light after 1 hour of driving. Also I always feel a ton of engine vibration on the brake pedal.

I have had problems with the brakes 2 weeks after I got the car. After extensive research by the head engineer, they found that Ford was using 2010 brakes and never told the mechanics that there are 2011 brakes they should be using. I was not only hearing squeaking but grinding. As of now, I am in a lemon law suit. Ford says I am not eligible for re-purchase but the law states if the car was in the shop for the same issue 3 times you are eligible. I love my Mustang but safety is #1.
