There is a recall for fuel odor on build dates 9/14-10/14 due to a failed fuel line sensor. My vehicle has a build date of 8/14 and is experiencing the same issue but not covered under the recall, which is a heavy fuel odor after putting gas in. Any amount of fuel put in has a severe odor, it doesn't have to be filled.

Canister purge valve malfunction stuck in an open position. If this occurs, an excessive vacuum in the fuel system could cause deformation of the vehicle-??s plastic fuel tank. Indicator light check engine with fluctuating or inaccurate fuel levels. This could lead to a stall while driving and/or an inability to restart the vehicle, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Fuel line. There is a sensor that comes on when you put fuel in the vehicle. I think it has to do with the vapor line from past Ford recalls on mustangs.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that when his daughter would drive the vehicle at various speeds, she could smell a burning rubber odor emitting from the vehicle. While the contact's daughter was driving at 50 mph, she noticed white smoke coming from the engine without warning. The driver immediately pulled and called her father. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who discovered that the valve cover gasket had caused oil to spill over the manifold. The contact then called angela krause Ford (1575 mansell rd, alpharetta, ga 30009) where they informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle and referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed him that the dealer would have to perform a diagnostic to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer stated that they may offer financial assistance if the failure was determined to be linked to NHTSA id number: 10167184 (engine and engine cooling) manufacturer communication number tsb 19-2309, which did not include his vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 56,000.

2015 Ford Mustang ecoboost is suffering from a fuel tank leak. Cel turned on while driving on freeway. There are no signs of undercarriage damage, but the evap on top of tank has a hairline crack. This is a faulty part as there has already been a recall for this same issue (NHTSA campaign #: 15V339000), but not all 2015 Ford Mustang ecoboosts are covered from previous recall. This leak may cause a potential fire if not tended to.

I recently bought the car to a close friend and as he already states to me before to buy a car there is a check engine light active, I went to a shop to find out what is wrong and the code alarm is P0456, small evaporators leak. An smoke test was performed and found out the gas tank has a blue fitting on top of it that is leaking out all the vapors. After the surprising new on a 2015 car I went by myself to inspect the fitting and find out the hose connection is good but the fitting coming out the tank has a crack allowing vapors to come out the tank and producing the alarm P0456. The alarm can be reset and after some days come back again.

Took my Ford Mustang to Ford and they told me they had to replace the fuel vapour hose. Once job was completed I asked if it was covered since I had done research and it was a recall this Mustang had. They said no, and ended up paying $350.84. Is there any way I can get a refund?

Unexpected high RPM acceleration from rest. Started the engine and put the vehicle in...rpms jumped to 4,000 and vehicle accelerated until brakes applied and engine shut off. Luckily no vehicles behind me. The vehicle left 20 foot long burn marks in the pavement before I could react and slam on the brakes and shut off the vehicle. Over the next 15 minutes, I carefully started the engine with my foot on the brake pedal...each time the engine started normally and within a few seconds the engine accelerated to 3000 to 4000 rpms without me ever touching the accelerated (my foot stayed on the brake pedal). Each time I quickly hit the stop button. After waiting for several hours for the non-appearance of a tow truck...I carefully started the engine again. But this time, it ran correctly. I carefully drove to a nearby Ford dealership, where it now sits waiting for a diagnosis. If there had been any other vehicles behind me in the parking lot...I would have impacted on or more.

The purge control valve possibly also described as a purge canister valve is defective and is not available for replacement purchas through many auto part stores. This product causes excessive raw fuel to enter into the engine causing major engine damage along with harmful emission fumes into the environment. While in idle the car tends to shut off or drop below standard idle RPM. There is also loss of power due to this defect part. Ford does not cover this part service under their warrenty and consumer is forced to pay an expensive service to get problem resolve due to the fact that they are the only one with access to this part. This should be a concern and under the emissions law and be covered under warrenty through the manufacture. On a side note, the emmisions control module is also effected and consumer is forced to pay an addition cost for this repair as well. This is a problem with majority of the new Mustangs year ranging for 2015-2017.
