Many times, the passenger door has unlocked and opened while the vehicle was in motion. The door ajar light will come on and it happens without warning at various speeds. I am the original owner and the car has approximately 28,000 miles.

The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and planet Ford spring (20403 interstate 45, spring, tx) were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

On Friday, July 19, 2019, my son was driving on I-75 in Florida, going from univ of tampa to fernandina beach. While driving on the highway (approx 70 mph), the driver's side door unlatched - this happened to him twice on the trip. He pulled over & had to close the door. He mentioned that this had happened to him once before a few weeks ago. There is a Ford recall for this problem for 2015 Mustangs but no recall for 2016. Vehicle has been repaired 7/23/19.
