Component failed: Driver side door latch Safety put at risk: Door could open while car was in motion making driver vulnerable to an accident or exposure of driver to road conditions Has the problem been confirmed: Manufacture Ford has a Safety recalls 15S16 and 16S30 for the problem Component has been inspected by Ford dealer ship. Both drive and passenger door latches were replaced. Were there any warnings before hand: No. Under recall 15S16 and 16S30 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, Feb. 14, 2014, to April 30, 2015 were included for the door latch failures. My car was built in Sept of 2015 yet experienced the same issue. I was charged for the door latch replacement when the car should have included in the recall.

The passenger door opens on it's own while in motion. I am afraid my passenger will fall out of the car. The dealership will do nothing since they can not spontaneously make it happen in the short ride they take it on. This happens on a weekly basis. Been happening now for at least 2 years

I recently purchased this Ford Mustang 2016 from a used car dealer and while driving this car couple of times we noticed that the car door got unlatched while driving, it doesn't happen all the time but it happened twice so I started researching and found out that there was a recall for this model but I could get the appointment immediately so by the time I was able to get the appointment the dealer says the recall is expired. I Called the dealer in September of 2023 but I got the appointment on October 9th of 2023. Dealer says recall expired on September 30th 2023. I didn't know that recall's expire at certain period. Please help us so we can drive safe.

While driving on route 95 the passenger door became unlatched. This happened several times (4~6 ?) on our long (12 hr) drive. I researched and saw that there was a recall for this exact problem for 2015 Mustangs, but none for 2016. I have seen multiple reports from other 2016 Mustang owners that they have encountered the same issue.

While on a road trip and driving aprx 70 MPH, the passenger door released to the secondary latch position and the "Passenger Door Ajar" light came on. After stopping and opening and closing (and locking) the door, the light went off. However, later it released again. The driver side door also released in the same manor. There were four occasions of this happening. After returning home, I did some research and found Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 21N10 dated 12-15-2021, which states criteria in which my vehicle falls (Mustang, model year, assembly plant, build dates). I contacted my dealership and was told that my vehicle's VIN was not included in their "OASIS" VIN report, and that they would not honor the terms of the program.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact noticed a blister on the hood of the vehicle. The contact called the local dealer and sent photos of the fractured hood via email. The dealer called back to inform the cause of the blister was the corrosion. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact was referred to a collision shop. The vehicle was taken to the collision shop and was informed that the hood needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to another local dealer, Five Star Ford of Warner Robins (900 Russell Pkwy, Warner Robins, GA 31088, (478)215-8381) and was provided with the same information and informed that the hood needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 3,400.

I would like to file a complaint against Ford in regards to a door latch issue with my 2016 Mustang convertible. Starting in April 2021, the passenger side door will become unlatched on it's own while driving even with doors locked. It doesn't open entirely but enough to trip "door ajar" light and interior lights. Since that time in April it happened in June of 2021 and again in August after which I took car to a dealer. Door came unlatched at normal speeds between 40 and 60 mph. The car is under an extended warranty from Ford and the car now has approximately 37,000 miles on it. I am the original owner. The dealer kept car for about a weeks time and said they could not duplicate it. They told me warranty wouldn't honor it since they couldn't duplicate the issue and it would cost around $600 to fix possible issues. They asked me several questions implying I was imagining it or I didn't know what I was talking about. I've been driving for about 50 years. Since August, it has happened 2 more times, once at highway speed on 10/17/21 and again yesterday, 01/11/21 also at highway speed. This time my son was sitting in passenger seat. He is a Ford trained mechanic although he doesn't work for Ford but works on Ford police fleet cars. I do believe this is a safety issue but Ford will not address the issue. I took it to Ford corporate and they backed the dealer. I believe it will only get worse as time progresses. Wouldn't cover under warranty but if I wanted to pay they would do whatever I wanted them to do.

In my 2016 Ford Mustang ecoboost convertible, the passenger door has opened (unlatched) many times while I have been driving. The car has not been wrecked due to my knowledge and the carfax. This doesn't occur often, but when it occurs, it happens multiple times in that day. It usually occurs when driving on the interstate. There is a recall out for 2015 fastback Mustangs for this issue. But I presume there is a similar issue with 2016S.

While driving my car, the passenger side door will open and I get a message saying "passenger door ajar". I have to immediately pull over to shut the door. This happens infrequently, but it is still dangerous to have a door that you think is locked open while driving down the highway. This has happened to me about 4 times since I got the car in November of 2019.

While at highway speed, my passenger door unlatches and I receive a "door open" warning on the dash. This has occurred multiple times including several instances where a passenger was seated next to the open door and I feel it is extremely unsafe. I took it to the Ford dealership and they told me they couldn't replicate the issue so there was nothing they would do. I reported it to Ford corporate and they advised me to file a complaint with the NHTSA. This has occurred on more than a dozen instances with my vehicle.

Passenger door comes open by itself while driving. It happens at various speeds and various roads. Luckily, so far it has only happened on straight roads. There are several recalls on comparable year vehicles of this same model for a door latch replacement. The vehicles I have checked all have interchangeble parts, meaning when I order parts, it is for a range of years. This is partially why I don't understand Ford reluctance to include the 2016 in the repairs.

The rear deck "GT" emblem broke on my new car and fell off. I returned it to the dealership to have it replaced because it is a new vehicle and still under warranty. The emblem was replaced as well as the back deck lid and the reverse camera because it is all one piece. As I left I noticed that the new deck lid did not seal properly and water could get in my trunk so I returned to the service shop. At that time I was told by an associate that an update was made to the service manual and a new "bumper pad" was required to be added under the deck lid that was preventing it from closing properly. I told them it was unacceptable and it needed to be fixed. They continued to explain it was a factory change and was corrected exactly how it was supposed to be according to the new manual updates. The larger problem is that I explained to them that I am active duty military and was picking the car up to drive straight to my new base. They stated it was not an issue and I could have my local dealer look at the item and fix it under warranty. Well, I am now at my new location and the local dealer stated there is not any updates to the manual for them to add an extra buffer pad and they the deck lid they added is warped from them trying to force it on. However, the local dealer cannot touch it because it was repaired under warranty at the other location and they are responsible. Now they want me to drive it back 490 miles one way to have them fix it when they first lied to me about what was done and then also told me I could bring it to a local shop because the military moved me and the warranty would still cover it. They need to pay what ever they need to the local dealer so I can have my new car repaired since they messed it up and then lied to me. Mall of Georgia Ford is where I purchased it and the same service department that lied to me.
