Mustang Ecoboost 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission

Driving down the highway at around 57mph, the hood released causing it to fly up, hit the driver's side windshield, the right side of the hood came loose from the car and wrapped around the drivers door making it impossible to get out of the car even after being able to get to the side of the highway. I had to climb out of the passenger's side with shards of glass in the top of my hands. The only precursor to this event was the fact I was having trouble with the hood pull inside the car. It had become difficult to open without feeling like the hood pull was going to break when it was pulled. I had not opened the hood for some time as it was difficult to open and was just now due an oil change.
