Purchased in February, when I purchased there was a small 1cm fray of stitch along the seam. Did not think of this as a problem at all, and was thrilled to own the car. The initial fray was barely enough to grab with your finger nails. Since then, it has gotten worse and began to tear. I do not wear a ring, carry a knife, or even keys. There is no damage to the leather to indicate, EXTERNAL FORCE WHICH FORD LOVES TO SAY. If the tear was along the bottom of the wheel I could understand their reasoning, maybe. It is very difficult to rub any part of your body or any of your accessories??? along the top of the wheel. That is exactly where my thumb goes and normal driving has caused ~1/8 of my steering wheel to tear. Ford's response is very unprofessional, have talked to many people who have had no issues with warranty claims and I have not gotten an honest response. This is completely unacceptable for new vehicles, the Chevy dealer agrees.
