Ford stated that they are currently installing the part, but for trucks, vans, and SUV's, they would not start until June of 2008. There had been no failure to date. I have a recall on a Ford Ranger 1999 pickup for the speed control. The recall notice was sent to me in August. The part is still unavailable at my local dealer - bitterroot motors and when I call the Ford hotline, they also say the part will be unavailable until may or later. I think if this is a safety issue, they should be required to deal with the recall a little sooner than 10 months after they issue the recall. Now it is my responsibility to keep calling the Ford dealer to find out when I can schedule a repair. They don't keep a list to contact me when they get the part in.
