Ranger EX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 250,000 miles

This Truck has had rear brake problems since the day I purchased it over 15 years ago. It is headed back into the shop again today (9/16/2020). I have put brakes on it over 10 times!

I started off going to Tire Discounters in Wilmington, Ohio. They replaced the rear brakes 5 times and the brakes still did not work. So I took it to the Tire Discounters in Miamisburg, Ohio. They called in their Brake expert. He got the brakes to last a little over a year, just out of warranty.

So I took it to an older guy in Germantown, Ohio who got 2 years out of the rear brakes. He is 84 years old and I can't get him to replace the brakes again.

So now I'm taking back to Tire Discounters in Miamisburg, Ohio again. Taking back in today for the third time in 3 months. Rear brakes, one is locking up, the other with not stop the wheel when the brakes are applied.

Good job Ford!!

Ranger XLT 4.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 10,563 miles

When I bought the truck in 2004 it had 17000 km on it. Whenever its parked, say, overnight in my driveway and it has rained out, I drive away, pull up to a stop sign put the brakes on and the rear brakes lock up. When its raining real hard out and I'm driving around I put my brakes on and wham, rear brakes lock up. I've had the brakes replaced once and it worked for awhile and its started again.I've learned to live with it.JUNK
