"takata recall" I have received recall notices on both of the airbags in my vehicle (one in December 2015 for the passenger side and the other in February 2016 for the driver's side). I did not do anything in December 2015 since my passenger side airbag could be turned off. When I got the second notice about the driver's side, I caused the airbags to deploy rather than risk injuring someone in my family. I called my local Ford dealer and made an appointment to have the airbags replaced on November 10, 2017. I was told that they could not replace my airbags without an authorization from Ford Motor Company since I had taken the deployment canister out of the vehicle and discarded it. I did this because I still needed to use the covering insert in my steering wheel. The dealer advised me to contact Ford Motor Company "Ford customer relationship/roadside assistance" at phone # 1-800-392-3673. I was told that there was nothing they could do because they had to have the recalled airbag canister to get credit for replacing it. So neither of my airbags have been replaced. Do I have any options available to have my airbags replaced, at this point, other than paying the cost of repair myself?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 Ford Ranger. The contact received notification of a manufacturers air bag recall. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (koch 33 Ford, 3810 hecktown road easton, pa 18045, (610) 810-1187) for a recall repair appointment. The vehicle was serviced and the contact was uncertain if the dealer had remedied the repair due to having to take the vehicle back pertaining to the condition of the steering wheel and the components on the front passenger side. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was waiting to determine if they might send a technician to verify that the part was replaced and the remedy provided the intended solution. The approximate failure mileage was not available.

"takata recall" I scheduled an appointment with quirk Ford in hallowell Maine to complete recall 17S42 on January 31, 2018. They did not have the parts available to fix this recall. They said to check back by end of February to see if parts were in. I called dealer on March 5, 2018 and they said they did not get any in and that they were not allowed to order them. "they only get so many a month from Ford". the recall letter and info in the media says that "parts are now available to repair your vehicle". obviously the parts are not available. Is Ford being deceptive on the availability of parts to repair this recall?

Takata recall: I received notice in Dec 2017 that my vehicle was unsafe to drive & that Ford would pay for repair. End of Feb 2018, local dealer still has no parts. Ford has not provided me with a loaner car until mine can be made safe. These manufacturers have full foreseeability that their product can cause serious injury or death, yet they fail to remedy this design flaw, threatening millions of people. I am forced to: A) risk bloody death by shrapnel exploding airbags; B) not drive my vehicle which deprives me of essential transportation & the use of my rightful property; or C) disable the airbags & rely only on seatbelts as we did in the olden days. Please help get parts to the millions of consumers who should not bear the burden for manufacturing defects & corrupt failures of govt oversight. Protect our highway safety by demanding replacement parts be made available in all states immediately.
