I bought a new 2006 Ford Ranger sports truck from akins Ford in April 2006. The truck had Goodyear Wrangler tires on the truck when I bought it. I rotated the truck several times since owning the truck and have even had a flat tire. The tire was replace, repaired and then put back on the truck. I was preparing for a highway trip to new orleans, so I was having the tires rotated when I discovered that all 4 four of the tires were dryrotting. Each tire had evidence of the dryrotting on the inside (the opposite side from the raised white lettering) of the tire. I contacted Goodyear customer service and referred to a local Goodyear dealer. The examined the tires and estimated that I had 50% wear left on the tires. My truck has 74,000+ miles on the original tires. Goodyear was only willing to prorate the remaining wear for the cost of new set of Goodyear. I did not want another set of Goodyear since the problem was new tires that were dryrotted and surely had not planned to purchase a new set of tires at this time. My greatest concern was my safety and the safety of others while I was driving.
