Same issue as mikedcc, Sharpsburg, NC, US. Driving and all gauges go to zero but the gas gauge, odometer displays all dashes (--------------). Truck still runs but if you turn it off, it will not start again for some time. I used his fix and it was a loose wire bundle behind the e-Brake pedal. As soon as I touched it, it came apart. Reseated it and tied a tie wrap around the bundle. Truck started right away, it had been dead on my curb for at least three weeks.

Ran all afternoon for about 15 miles. Several short trips, start and stops.

I had it at local Ford dealership on and off for the last four years spending 2K dollars and then it cost them in parts and time the last 18 months probably another $2K. Every time I went to get it the truck was in the back of the lot all dusted over. So I do not know how much real effort went into it on their part. I was getting ready to sell for parts or donate but thought I'd give it one last shot and it worked. Been a great truck when it runs, so we will see how long it lasts.

Fall 2011 my dash lights started flashing and gauges bobbing while driving. It did it on and off all winter. The wetter the weather, the more likely it was to do it. All summer it didn't happen. Come fall it started up again, and is ongoing.

Update from Jun 19, 2013: Turns out my problem is that the ECM is in the firewall, directly beneath a vent, and rain falls right in on top of it and leaks into the ECM. Ford has not come up with any solutions for me, even after $500 of my money! I finally fixed it myself by covering the vent with duct tape. Sure would like a more permanent solution...
