Ranger LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 32,000 miles

Fed up!!! My truck bucks from time to time as if someone was learning to drive a standard. This is an automatic vehicle with only 33,000 thousand miles on it. I've had it in the shop for this 3 times and they continue to say nothing is wrong. It has been in the shop 2 other times for other transmission problems... all in just over 1 year! Completely ridiculous to have to put up with this and basically be told "tough sh**"

Ranger Sport 4.0L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 9,942 miles

When changing gear from 3rd to 4th on the highway, front end starting shaking violently. I thought one of the engine mounts came loose. Even in neutral, the stick shift was really shaking. Took it to the dealership immediately and they found no problem. Apparently, turning off the engine and restarting eliminated the problem. I'm concerned there might have been some damage to it while it was vibrating. I work as an Industrial Mechanic and I'm well aware of the damage that temporary vibration at high RPM can cause.
