Ranger XLT 2.3L

Another blown motor for the Ranger. We bought this vehicle 14 months ago; oil is changed regularly and without fail, any and all maintenance always done. Husband is a Tech; formerly in the Army, worked as a tech for years ; therefore this isn't a "we don't understand " or "don't take care of vehicle" problem. This truck started throwing a misfire code. Checked coil packs, cylinders etc. Husband went ahead and changed coil packs and injectors. Nothing. Yes, sparkplugs were changed approximately 4 months after purchase. Still showing missing in Cylinder 1. Took to Ford and they are saying there is NO compression in Cylinder 1 and only 30% compression in Cylinder 2! Seriously? A new motor, already. On a 4 year old vehicle and $8,000 ....Outrageous ! Looking on all the forums this is not a new problem or an isolated case, many people have had this issue; misfires, compression and blown motors.
