Heater core failed due to overheating of engine. Dealer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

To date, Ford maintains this engine is not covered by "secret warranty" although it is the same defect as the 3.8L. Persistent problem of leaking coolant. Transmission is unreliable and unsafe. A/C clutch, compressor and water pump failed simultaneously. Replaced heater hose following A/C repair due to continued leak.

Was driving vehicle when odor of anti-freeze came through air vents inside of vehicle. Took to mechanic who indicated possible heater core or head gaskets causing problem which is or could be reparable. Meanwhile owner has to continually add anti-freeze to vehicle to prevent it from heating up.

Defective heater core caused coolant vapors to leak onto front windshield, causing windows to fog up and affecting visibility. Vehicle had to be pulled over, and tried to clean coolant off the window. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that repairs would be at consumer's cost.

Had a head bolt heater installed and oil changed 3 days prior to fire. Never had a chance to use heater. Car was warming up when fire occured. Any ideas on possible causes?
