Was driving on the highway at night when I went to decelerate and nothing happened. The pedal did not return to its proper position and the car maintained speed. It was like having the cruise control on but it wasn't. Luckily the car ride was long and just before I got off the highway the pedal returned to normal. I later figured out it was the cable that connects the pedal to the throttle. The protective casing around it cracked off exposing bare metal and it being the middle of winter caused the cable to freeze and become stiff. My solution was to spray it with WD-40 it worked and I haven't had trouble with it since. This is a very dangerous problem as it could cause an accident and should be look into further.
