Nothing but problems with cooling system, car has ran hot for at least 20,000 miles. Have done everything, flushed system, replaced hoses, replaced coolant reservoir and cap. Taken in 5-6 times for a cooling system check. Thermostat went out at 78000 miles. Now I think the engine is gone due to overheating problems. Having trouble getting a hold of Ford on 800 #. This car has been a headache from the get go.

I have a 98 ford taurus and it has been a major problem of course only a week after the warranty expired. I had a blown head gasket, then had to change out everything in the cooling system from sensors to radiator etc on and on. Now onlly a month later it's still junk sitting in my driveway looking pretty but, not running again. Now, my mechanic says it's the oil pump and my engine may be shot. He let me know myself I got a lemon!!!!!!!!

First off we thought that this problem had been fixed many times. So far the damage to our pockets has been at least $5,000. It started as the heater and defroster would not work. Not too bad until your driving and can't see sh*t or freezing your ass off in the winter. To flush the radiator and replace the heating valve cost roughly $700 at Elkridge Motors. Got it home still didn't work another 800 dollars to have some "elements replaced" and it worked okay for another 2 maybe 3 1/2 months. Until it started to overheat and smoke. Took it to an Apple Ford auto mechanic, the coolant tank and radiator needed to be replaced. Got the car back 3 days later parked it in the driveway only to notice the coolant leaking out and pooling into the gutter.. Which was already another $2,380.78 worth of damage. Pissed off i DROVE that sucker back to the shop and said "fix it for free its your fault, or a lawsuit!"
Another 3-4 months go by and the oil pan is leaking. Got that fixed...another couple hundred.
One month later here I am the car is smoking worse then it ever has before and leaking, and the problem still hasn't been fixed.
Quite honestly we knew the car wasn't worth it but for the time being it was always we can't afford another car payment or another car period we're just trying to hang in there because this car is what gets me to my job.
