problem #2

Taurus ES 3.2V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 53,829 miles

Car starts up fine when cold, when the car is driven awhile and I cut the engine off it won't start until it cools down. Brought a new battery, had the alternator checked, still will not start if car is warm.

problem #1

Taurus SEL 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

Jim B. reported this problem for his 2002 Taurus. When the car had been run a few miles and the engine turned off, the engine would start but felt like it was running on 2 of the 6 cylinders and soon died. We tried his temporary fix and it worked. Moved the door lock button up and down a few times to "wake up" the anti-theft system, the engine started and ran normally.

We love the car, but this wierd failure is not acceptable. We need a permanent fix.
