Blower motor on my Ford Taurus and blower resistor has shorted out because of a water leak. I have researched this problem and have found numerous other Taurus owners with the same problem. William Ford who filed a complaint number 10184014 is one person to many others to mention.

I own a 2001 Ford Taurus. We have been having an on going oil filter leak. We have dealer paperwork to prove it. I found on-line a tsb 01-20-4 showing the problem. We went to drew Ford today 6-14-05. The problem is the machined lines on the oil filter mounting surface. Our service writer told us we'll be charged $60 to find the leak. When it's plain as day where its leaking. We're told the warranty is the lst 36,000 miles only, but we have been reporting this all along to Ford. When I found this tsb on-line number 01-20-4. I want my car fixed for free.this is a hazard, not only the smell of burning oil, but the fire hazard, the dealer said there is a chance if it is fixed if all the metal and sandpaper debris from the oil filter pad enter the engine or oil this could lead to engine bearing damage. So now this is a catch 22. I have passed the 36,000 miles., having over 90,000 miles. I told the dealer ( drew Ford) in la mesa ca I leave on vacation, I'm driving to mn 6-19-05. 5 days from now. This should be a re-call. It is for 2001 Taurus, Ranger and 2001 Sable models.

We noticed the lower half of the car is covered with small rust spots 44000 miles. We do not have an estimate on fixing this problem. At 39000 miles we began experiencing a rattle under the right front passenger floor board. This has been inspected and nothing has been found so far, however the rattle continues to grow worse. Just under 30000 miles the front brakes required replacment. New rotors and brake pads were installed, however within a weeks time the car was back in for more brake work. The pads were replaced by the shop, but the sqeaking has returned again.( we did not have the brakes repaired at the Ford dealership, because we were told that this was not covered under warranty.) the fuel gauge reads erracticly between full and 1/4. I have made no attempt to have this fixed yet. The engine has developed a hard starting problem within the last few weeks. It will crank and not start. Then after a couple of attempts, it will start but idle rough.
