Taurus 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

hi everybody i have a 02 ford taurus it had 100,000 miles on it and driving to work one day the trans decided to go out well thats not that bad the problem is that when it went out the front tires locked up and sent me 3 lanes right it to a cop car in the middle of the highway i had my car towed to ford and proceeded to ask way the trans did what it did the shop manager said that the trans gears blow apart in the case and lock the converter up that way my car skided. so thanks to ford i have a 6000 dollar bill from the police department and no car. i will never buy another ford ever.

Taurus LX 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

I have a 2002 Taurus with only 57,000 miles on it when without warning the transmission began making a popping noise and began jerking on acceleration. Took it to a transmission shop and they discovered the transaxle and transmission planetary gears were all shredded and destroyed. Not one single clutch plate was burned however. I plan on selling or trading in this car since I have found the transmission problems on this particular model to be numerous. I'd like to give Ford Motor Company a real piece of my mind. I think I'll buy a Japanese car.
