problem #1

Taurus SEL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

The car lost comlete power two different times, both exiting from the interstate. I nearly rear ended another car the second time.

It's the camshaft position sensor that was bad. As a failsafe, if it faults, it will completely cut the power to the car, including your enginer, power breaks, and stearing. This is VERY VERY dangerous!! Was able to start up to get onto tow truck bed, and had it towed to dealership. Had sensor replaced, then no problems for about a couple months, until it died again. Had towed back to dealer and found that the new sensor they installed ended up being a faulty sensor too.

Ford, you guys are putting people's lives at risk with this kind of crap!
