Seen in the news today 10/26/2012 Feds investigating Ford Taurus gas pedal stuck caused by throttle cable and this is not true. Had a 2003 Ford Taurus and throttle gas pedal would stick at 4000 rpms over 70 mph but didn't panic just put car in neutral. Brought it to two Ford dealers they had no clue how to fix it. Took car back checked internet for similar issues and took a shot that it was the throttle body, changed it myself which corrected problem. Don't think it is cable issue throttle body hinge gets stuck. Ford is just blowing smoke they know the issue they do not want to take responsibility and pay to fix it (lawsuits etc). Dealers had never heard of this issue when I bought it in sounds like there has been enough complaints if the Feds are looking into it.
