Coil broke driver front, of course destroyed my new tire also! I can't believe there is not a recall on this! My mechanic has already did over 100 of them at his shop. Thank you Ford, I will never buy another product from you. Its a shame people have to die for you to do a recall.

I have photos of the broken coil spring that punctured my left tire while my car was parked in my driveway over night. I sent the photos to Ford and they said it was not a recall item as not many accidents were caused by this problem. I sent letters and photos to Senator Schumer and the National Safety Transportation Board and they sent me the identical reply that Ford gave them to send to me. Senator Schumer said he would forward the letter to the proper department.

Front strut and spring and tire had to be replace. Had a flat tire when I went to go to work one morning, the spring just tore the tire to pieces.

I had the right front spring break on my car. I was luck, it did not puncture my tire. When I took my car in for repair I was told why it broke. They believed that it was do to a taped label that was on the spring. The tape was not sealed to the metal and water was able to get under it and caused the spring to rust out. They also advised me that mine was not the only Taurus they had see like that. Just an FYI to the owners out there.

Driver's side coil spring broke while backing out of my driveway. The sway bar end link (plastic ) also broke and the coil spring ripped a large hole in the tire. Hopefully that's the extent of the damage. Thankfully, I wasn't out on the highway.
Having spent thousands in the last couple years on my Ford vehicles, I'm beginning to question my loyalty. The really bad thing is that it has all been because of parts that shouldn't go bad - they simply are defective but of course never Ford's fault. And then they wonder why the imports are kicking their rear.

As people will find out, Ford had a major problem with Taurus coil springs failing. Mine went out while I was driving at 30mph, and I was barely able to keep the car on the road. I was about to enter the freeway - it it had happened there, I would have crashed! $1450 worth or repairs and Ford will not help me with this - my dealer said, and I quote: "The spring breaking isn't Ford's fault, it was made by another company." I'm looking to replace this lemon (because the rear springs could go out as well) Do you think I'll buy another Ford??????

had to replace the spring and all parts attached and a brand new tire that purchased a few months ago. Ford needs to do a recall. If the vehicle had been moving, it could have flipped hurting someone. Everyone is suggesting I replace all four springs, but at $400 a piece, I have to choose whether to take a chance or not.

It's a really awful time for me that I have to spend 600 more bucks for replacing the left-front string and tire. It's quite a big deal.
