Car stalling out in middle of intersection turns, once in a while, with no forewarning. Power steering locks up, when engine dies. Very Dangerous. No codes show up. Mechanics can't run down the problem because it only does it sometimes and not while in the shop. Help!!

Taurus LES 3.0L Vulcan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 159,200 miles

Got a p0353 code. Changed battery (it needed it) coil pack and spark plugs. Worked good for a day then it missed at idle, took off accelerating without provocation, the check engine light wouldn't come back on for any of this until I took every fuse out, checked and reinserted them. It finally came on today when the transmission went out a couple hours ago. Can't wait to see what my codes are. You owe me an explanation Ford! We don't do this kind of sh*t to people where I'm from. Its just wrong. My life has haulted. No car=no work in construction. I DEPENDED ON YOU!!!!!

Taurus SE 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 128,456 miles

Engine dies while going down the road for no apparent reason. 1 mechanic says its the Cam Positioning Sensor since it will start right back up after it dies. But the last time it did this it completely died, no lights no starting because there was no electrical power to the ignition. I open the driver's door to get out and push the car, then all the lights came back on. It started right up and I made it home. Don't want to chance it on the road now. Autozone checked the codes and says that both banks are running lean. OK but why do all the lights go off????

Taurus ES 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 118,100 miles

After 4 visits to the ford service department, $800.00 spent, and still having problems, I am not satisfied. Can not rely on it running if I take it out of town. I work 45 minutes from home and it acts up several times on each trim. Even just stopped running at 60 MPH and had to pull over to restart. Not a good situation. It seems to hiccup, hesitate temporarily and the resume. Engine may stop when pulling into a parking place.
