Taurus SE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

I drive a 2007 Ford Taurus and as I am driving down the highway at 60mph it starts accelerating on its own. The rpms jumped high so I go to pull over and I am not able to stop. When I do stop and put it in park the rpms jump so high, it sounds like my car is about to blow up. I immediately turn it off, wait a few minutes and when I go to start it up again, the rpms jump again. I leave it sitting for about 5 minutes and it stops. I continue to try and get my car home and it does it again. This is very dangerous. I have read this happening to the 07 Ford Taurus when it reaches a certain mileage..Is this true? Is there a recall on this? I will not drive my car again until it is fixed.

Taurus SE 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 135,000 miles

When going down the street at any speed, the car can just start going faster on its own, going around corners or anytime. Its getting very Dangerous.

Most of the time when you tap on the gas pedal, it will break free and go back to normal but sometimes it just goes faster and faster. Have to pop it in neutral and keep tapping the pedal until it goes back to normal.
