My 2011 Ford Taurus has had so many repairs out of pocket expenses and if I purchased another warranty package doubt it would cover my issues past and present. 69,000 th miles. Throttle bottle and pedal replacement $ $852.79 replaced on February 14, 2023. Mechanic tried to fix it but the error code is the large blue wrench and check engine light still on. Have to bring it in at the end of the month to my Ford Dealer as they are so booked up and I have read all the Ford recalls. When I start the car the break pedal is to the floor, it revs up and when I place the shift in drive it wants to take off by itself at a rapid speed. I then shut the car off and it makes a big thump. It takes me three tries to start it up again but looses power where I have to put my emergency flashes on. This incident is so dangerous. Ford should have done a recall there are so many complaints ! I was going to disconnect my battery and connect it again to see if that works but I don-??t want to erase the codes. My Ford dealership is so busy that they could only give me an appointment at the end of the month. As I stated my vehicle is inoperable as it sits until the end of the month to get serviced again.

The vehicle won't stop in a hurry no matter how hard the brake pedal is pushed. If I depress the brake pedal and then the accelerator, the brakes won't keep it from moving. Have replaced master cylinder and bleed brakes. Afraid to drive it. Not safe in town.

The rear window shade pops up and down when I put the car in reverse. Also the brakes roar when the brake is depressed hard. I've read a lot of complaints on the window shade. This appears to be a bad option that's put on a Ford.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed, the brake pedal was difficult to be depressed. The contact had to apply force to the brake pedal in order to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,300.

Brakes/calipers on rear have seized twice in last 6 months resulting in replacement of calipers/brakes/rotors on rear. No uncommon use of vehicle. Brakes/calipers on front have seized once in last 6 months. This happened following the replacement of strut. Front struts bearing had seized and fractured on the passenger side of vehicle. No uncommon use of vehicle took place. No accident sustained. Problem was noticed when vehicle was turning (loud crunching and scraping noises).

In August, 2015, back brakes began grinding and scraping. Turns out the rear calipers had seized resulting the in the brakes grinding down to the plates. These were newer brakes and vehicle was recently purchased. Following the brakes and calipers being replaced, I was once again (October, 2015) back at the mechanic with the same issues. The calipers had once again seized on the back brakes, resulting in a chunking/grinding sound regardless of if I was braking or not.

I purchased my vehicle adn after only 15,000 miles I visited the dealer for a grinding sound on the brakes. Ford recommended that I had to pay for repair on the brakes because the pads were almost gone and I told them that it was impossible because I do not brake that much since I use the vehicle in the highway most of the time. After the car was repaired I had to bring the vehicle back for brake repair only after 4,000 additional miles and they told me the brakes were fine, but I told them that the brakes were failing because the I had difficulty braking and had to press them too hard to fully stop. I have almost crashed a couple of times, but I fear that if I have to perform an emergency stop while the brakes are hot I will crash. I took the vehicle for a second professionalo opinion and they told me that the vehicle is too heavy for the braking system. In addition, Ford modified the brake system in 2013 models and added 30% more braking space on their rotors. I believe they know about this defect and have ignored this situation. They have worked on the car more than six times and nothing. When the brakes get hot the rotors get "crystalized" and then a humming grinding sound starts followed by "sponge like feeling" on the brake pedal. I have changed the pads in three occasions and the car has only 54,000. I am going to file a complaint with the consumer department because they refuse to take the car back. I even had to purchase a new vehicle because I fear for my safety and my passengers. Please help any way you can. These people are just reckless. This is a 365 horsepower twin turbo Taurus and it does not properly stop after the rotors "crystalize" I have tried everything with them. This is supposed to be their "top of the" line model.

Our Taurus brakes squeak loudly in either forward or reverse. They also grind when coming to a moderate stop. Have taken to dealer 4 times and even have a customer case number with Ford. It sounds like a 72 pinto with 200,000 miles on it; not a brand new car! Ford dealer heard the noise but was told by Ford that this is "normal" on this model. I'm afraid to drive the car and even more fearful to let my two teenage driver get behind the wheel of this car for fear something may happen while they are driving it. Ford does not seem to car. I have been a loyal Ford customer for years and have purchased at least 5 new Ford in the last 10 years. I'm going to have to rethink that decision. No one seems to care or even wants to look farther into this even though the dealer has heard and verified the noise. They still continue to maintain that this noise is "normal".
