Taurus 6-cyl

  • 133,000 miles
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel seized and became difficult to turn. In addition, the power steering assist warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred. The contact continued to drive without power steering ability to his residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000. The vehicle is currently at a Ford dealership (place motors in webster MA) awaiting repair. Dealership has informed me that the power steering rack/motor need to be replaced. Ford was notified, but stated that this vehicle's VIN number does not match the very similar recall (NHTSA#15V340000). Codes found in the computer were U3000-96, U3000-49. This issue occurred on an off ramp and had this failure occurred with someone not as strong or with an elderly person, this would have most certainly caused an accident. The steering wheel takes an extreme amount of effort to turn. Address is incorrect.

Takata recalli am the owner of a 2013 Ford Taurus that I bought in 2016. It was a 1 owner no accidents and 36000 miles on it. I was never informed of any recalls by Ford or the dealership. Your website says it was fixed so I cannot see what recall out of the eight it has. I was driving to work one morning doing maybe 15mph around a right hand turn, when my passenger side tire almost fell off from being disconnected at the half shaft and link shaft. My traction stability light came on and I lost call control of the vehicle. I ended up hitting a traffic light. I had minimal cosmetic damage to the vehicle. But due to all of the powertrain work needing to be done from this the bill was over 5000$. I had to claim it on insurance and now I've been paying 5000$ a year or insurance on a car worth maybe 8000. I did not know about these recalls until recently and I am upset I was never notified because if I was doing the speed limit at 55. I would be dead. This is a hide safety concern of mine. I still have the repair bills and for hitting a stoplight at roughly 5mph could not have cause that much damage.

When driving down my city road around 20 mph, I was braking to turn in a store parking lot then suddenly my power steering when out with a fault code on my dash telling me that the car is in manual steering mode. The car was extremely hard to turn which almost created an accident since I could not turn in time to avoid collision.

No electronic power steering. Ford had a recall on this issue but it doesn't cover this car by the VIN. But it's the same issue with the recall. I talked to Ford and basically told me sorry about your luck. Is there anything else I can do about this cause I don't have 2500$ to fix their problem. The car only has 61000 miles on it I've been driving around with little to no power steering for four to five months.

I stopped for lunch and when I came back out and turned on the car the power steering light came on. I could barely move the steering wheel and it was extremely hard to move the vehicle in any direction. I had my children with me and it was really hot outside so I managed to drive the vehicle very carefully to the nearest walmart supercenter where I could take the children inside and take care of the vehicle. The car got towed to the nearest Ford dealership where they informed me that it would cost me 2200 dollars to fix the problem because my car was not part of the recall NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000. This was extremely upsetting because the recall specifically says what parts of the vehicle are affected but is VIN specific. Ford won't do anything about

The power steering went on the car. It is hard to turn at slow speed but a little better at higher speeds. Called Ford after reading about the recall and issues others with similar Ford cards had. For some reason, my car doesn't fall into the similar recall which doesn't make sense.

I own a 2013 Ford Taurus limited. I keep my vehicle well maintained by myself or the mechanic. I have has clunking sounds coming from the passenger side front end. My mechanic replaced both front struts and both sway bar links. The noise had stopped for approx: A week. Noise came back mechanic changed strut saying bad strut. Again have same problem. Details of bad clunking noise.......noise seems to be front left side, I and be parked and move steering wheel 1/4 turn left and right and hear noise. It seems to effect steering at low speeds turning. I travel 500 mile a week for work 98% highways. I have read countless complaints and no one has a solution. From others replacing steering modules, steering unit $2000, strut replacements. Control arms, wheel bearing"?????" need assistance I owe more on my car than its worth and cant afford to keep paying for a problem that has not been determined by Ford or anyone else. I hope accidents do not need to happen before this issue is taken seriously.
