There are two things that can be repaired. Either an electrical issue with the PCSM that can be repaired with a new module or a new gearbox for $3,000.00 with labor. Finding a shop that can diagnose it is a problem and the dealer will just make sure that they charge you the most for it by replacing everything. It is an expensive repair on it really sucks to try and have to figure it out.
I pressed down all the fuses in the fuse box restarted the car and it works as it is an electronic steering assist and not hydraulic you can't see it slowly deteriorate. It is either OK or not. and it can break when you are at highway speeds. Very bad.
It is working now but it is unsafe if it happens again. My son may not be so lucky next time.
