Taurus SEL 3.5L V6

There was no warning at all that the water pump was failing - I was just driving and noticed that when I stopped there was no heat. Then as I would drive, there was heat again. Water pump failed and not sure if there's any more damage to motor. It is in the shop - they have estimated about 3000 dollars to replace.
