The car stalled without warning while driving in heavy fast traffic which nearly caused a accident. It turns out that the recall Ford program [XXX] that addressed this issue was not performed by the dealership (even when it was serviced repeatedly at dealer) as they did not have the parts. Now Ford claims they will not fix the issue as the program expired months ago. Former ford stock owner (never again). Vehicle has an open recall for flexible coupling from the transmission to the drive shaft. This broke and damaged the fuel line, broke the brake lines and damage some other components. Took it to the Webb Ford in Highland IN and they informed me they will cover just the flexible connector and not the other damage caused by the failure, stating they send a lot of recall notices to the previous owner. Cost for the repairs are aprox $3,100. Since the failed coupling caused the damage, why i am asked to pay for the repairs caused by the recall component. I am a new owner of the vehicle and never received any notices from Ford. Thank you

While driving van displayed "engine fault service now" and lost all power in the middle of the road. I was able to pull over turn it off and back on and is running. This is happened to nearly our whole fleet of Ford Transits. I have put in a claim with Ford, as this is an extremely dangerous safety issue. It is causing my employees to feel like we are providing unsafe transportation, it is causing lost revenue due to vehicles being out of service and it is a potential insurance claim/workers comp issue. Ford needs to take action.

While driving on the highway, acceleration shuts down and I lose the ability to control speed. I had to coast to the side of the road even though the engine was still running and I was rear-ended. After I shut off the vehicle, it turned on and returned to normal operation. This has happened multiple times. The throttle body was replaced in 2021 at 117,444 miles and is having this issue again now. I have a fleet of Transit vehicles and this has happened on 4 transits from 2015-2018 a total of 6 times now. This is an ongoing issue that Ford needs to address.

The 2015 Ford Transit was designed such that rainwater from the windshield drains into the engine and sometimes floods the air filter system. This issue is documented in this NTSA TSB where it's stated: To resolve this condition, install updated water management hardware and/or a revised air cleaner cover. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10156525-0001.pdf We were driving along an interstate and were on a long viaduct while it was raining. The engine stalled and we were lucky enough that the vehicle was able to reach the end of the viaduct. I had my spouse and 7 children in the van. We received a tow but myself and 2 children were forced to walk along the interstate as the tow couldn't hold all of us. As this is a large passenger van, it's my opinion as a licensed professional engineer that it poses an substantial fatality risk to occupants because the likelihood of fatalities on interstates is tremendous due to traveling speed. Ford designed a windshield that puts water into the air system which creates a known safety and 100% preventable condition. This should be a factory safety recall repaired in all Ford Transits. Most of these vans are used by government agencies for employee or prison transport or by church/community service groups and has a high percentage of mass casualty or PDO when the system fails. There are multiple YouTube and Ford Transit auto forums highlighting this safety design flaw so it is a well known and attributable problem created by substandard Ford engineering.

On?Jan.17th, 2022, the Driveshaft Flexible Coupling separated at Highway speed, taking out my Fuel Lines and severely damaging the Transmission and other under-body components.?(Safety Recall Notice 19S38 / NHTSA Recall 19V-767) On?May 19th, 2022, I received my?1st?phone call from Todd-Judy Ford, Marmet, SC. w/Service Estimate for?$5,725.75?of repairs he?claimed?necessary that would NOT BE COVERED BY FORD., I know the guy was trying to pad the bill. I told him to talk to Ford Pro. On?July,25th, 2022 Todd-Judy Ford called to inform me that my Van was -??ready to go, -?? -??completely fixed-?? I? left Sept. 9th, 2022?driving over 500 miles, to Todd-Judy Ford. Once there they started telling me about all the new parts they put into my Van, saying -??You-??ve got a -??New?Transmission, -?? at which point I interrupted him, saying that I knew it was a?New Transmission?-??Case, -???not a?-??New Transmission.-???He then proceeded to explain that when they got the -??New Case-??, the Trans. Tech. inspects all the parts from my Trans., replacing anything it needs, while re-assembling into the -??New Case.-?? He claims that it-??s a?-??Rebuilt-?? Transmission! So, I ask, -??Is there a?Warranty?on it, then?-?? To which he replies?-??Yes there is!-?? I looked at the paperwork and saw quite a few parts listed as used, which are obviously Transmission Components. I also see?-??Rebuilt Transmission-???listed?twice?as Corrections!? My Van had a "Dead Battery" and a "massive exhaust leak". On Nov. 17th, 2022, just?51 days?after picking up my Van, the Transmission failed! Towed to Rock-Hill Ford SC. It threw a?Code of P0731, which is?-??Gear 1 Incorrect Ratio.-?? Multiple teeth from a gear sheared off. 2015 Ford Transit presents with no start condition lose of fuel and code P0230 on further diagnosis found engine compartment fuse box to have multiple fuse terminals loose from the board. To be clear these do not appear as fuses loose from the terminal they go in, this is the terminal seems loose from the circuit board. Either way the effect is the same, causing them to lose power intermittently including the fuel pump creating a no start and or die while driving condition potentially causing loss of steering. Have video documenting the condition as well as two pictures included showing voltage fluctuating..

  • 31,853 miles
The vehicle stalled upon backing out of a steep driveway & turning to the left. It would not restart. The van had been parked, at a customers' home all day. Heavy snow began falling a couple of hours before the van was started & warmed up to melt the snow from the windshield. When the van stalled, it was broadside to the street, blocking both opposing lanes of travel as the heavy snow increased in intensity. The van was virtually impossible to push off to the side of the road, due to the quickly accumulating snow, initially preventing a plow & police cruiser from passing. Aaa towing was called but, did not arrive until 2 hours after being summonsed as the snow continued to accummulate. I had the van towed to our business location and decided to check the engine air filter. When I opened the filter housing, it and the air fiter were water-soaked. I observed water running down the windshield, down along the firewall and onto/into the air filter box. I contacted my local Ford dealer (Ford of wilbraham, MA, tel.: 413-543-2800) to report my findings & to make an appointment to remedy the problem. The solution was performed as per tsb (technical service bulletin) #19-2091 and at a cost of $488.45 (invoice #659506), which I reluctantly paid to the dealer. I explained that this a poor design allowing water to run directly into the air filter box, which, in turn, shuts down the engine & renders the vehicle motionless & can be dangerous, depending upon where & when the vehicles' engine stalls & then fails to restart. The service writer said that there was nothing she could do to help me & that I am still responsible for the cost of the tsb. In addition, my invoice indicates that recall #19S38 was performed, yet it is still outstanding on the recall website under my vehicles' VIN. For the record, this van had only 31,853 miles on it, when I brought it in for this problem.

  • 20,000 miles
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled numerous times while driving on an incline or on a normal road surface, and when the cruise control was engaged. The contact had to place the vehicle in neutral and turn off and restart the engine in order for the vehicle to regain normal function. Also, while driving 30 to 70 mph, the reduce engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to logansville Ford first (3460 highway 78, logansville, ga 30052, 770-554-9994) diagnosed that the fuel tank failed. The fuel tank contained metal fragments. The vehicle was also taken to akins Ford (220 West may street, winder ga, 30680, 770-867-9136) for a second opinion. Akins Ford also stated that the fuel tank had metal fragments. The dealer stated that the fuel system must be cleaned and flushed. The dealer flushed the fuel system, replaced the railing five injector, the fuel tank was flushed and cleaned, and the fuel lines were cleaned. In addition, the fuel filter housing was replaced. The contact also stated that the fuel injector pump caused the metal flakes to enter the fuel tank; however, the fuel injector pump was not replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle entered limp mode and the contact had to turn the engine off to regain normal function. The failure occurred when driving 70 to 80 mph and when driving up an incline at any speed. The manufacturer was contacted, the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in an unknown recall regarding the fuel injection pump recall. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

The vehicle randomly developed hesitation to start one day as if it wasn't getting enough fuel or air. It did start and I drove home from work. I planned to take it to a dealership to get it checked out but the next day but the vehicle would not start. I attempted to jump-start but the battery was at full voltage. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership and they diagnosed the car. I was informed the next day by the technician that there was a tsb about this issue and that Ford Motor Company was well aware of the problem and that it would cost me $850 plus tax. Apparently the cabin air filter is not properly weather sealed and under normal use water will make its way into the filter, and into the mass air sensor. Ford has made new replacement parts for this issue but because I am out of warranty by a few months, I will have to pay for the entirety of the bill. Had the part given out while driving (especially at high speeds) the engine would seize and could have likely caused a crash.
