Hole in #4 piston. Searching online it looks like possibly a faulty injector. I had a similar experience with a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe at 45,000km but Hyundai replaced engine under warranty.
Bought this Transit Van brand new 30 October 2017. 3 year/100,000km warranty expired 30 October 2020, it has done 125,000km. FORD New Zealand refuse to cover the cost as it is outside of warranty (just). The new Transits now have a 150,000km 5 year warranty which really pisses me off that they are holding out on this fault.
Given Ford recalled the 2015 Transit's with a known piston problem it could be the same issue. They should front up.
