- replaced stabilizer bar (2 reports)
Front stabilizer bar was found to be broken inside of the rubber bushing where it is attached to the frame. This was discovered quite by accident when removing front wheel. The bar did not appear to be broken and could easily have come apart while driving and potentially cut into the front tire. The bar is made of a hollow tube rather than solid. There are openings in 2 places where moisture can get inside of the bar. The bar was corroded from the inside and outside at a point hidden by the rubber mount bushing. The cost of repair was minimal. The potential for the loose end coming out while driving and causing an accident is, in my opinion, enormous.

I have found out through some research that the breaking of the front sway bar on the Windstar is a common problem, I think something should be done to make Ford Motor Co. accountable to either repair at no cost or reimburse for repairs already made.
