My van started to loose paint! On the hood the paint is peeling. You can see all this spots and they are not small. At first I had only one, but after winter I have much more. What I can do? I believe this car is a Lemon car; we have too many problems with this van, FORD need to recall this car! I am not happy, I can say, I AM MAD! Seriously.

The paint started bubbling up and falling off the hood. The undercoat is in good condition and other than the fact that the paint is bubbling up and falling off, the paint looks good, still shiny, not dull or worn looking. I called Ford and since there is no recall there is nothing they can do to fix the problem, but they say they will keep a record of all calls about this issue. So if your paint is flaking off, call Ford and report it. If they get enough calls they claim they will issue a recall. Their number is 1 800-392-3673.

This is the 2nd Windstar I have owned and have generally been pleased with the notifications that Ford issues out on recalls, HOWEVER, there is a SERIOUS problem with the 2000 Ford Windstars. The paint is defective. I have seen way to many Windstars with the same issue and still no recall to fix the problem. The bubbling and peeling of the paint on the hood and the rusting thru below the front doors is a complete embarrassment. It's hideous looking . . . Ford needs to do the correct thing and get a recall issued on this ASAP.

Ford has a real problem with this. I have seen many Windstars with chipping paint similar to mine. They should have to pay to repaint/fix this problem. It is totally ridiculous.

I am very frustrated, especially since i am hearing and have seen at least 2 other Windstars same year with the same issue. Ford should pay to paint!!

The paint on our hood is chipping away in several spots. I figure the only solution is to take it to a body shop and have them sandblast the entire hood and repaint it. It's bubbling up like rust spots, but the grey undercoat is still intact and there are no signs of rust, just a bad paint job.

Paint has chipped off the hood, as well as other spots on the vehicle. Definitely a manufacturing problem, but there is likely no recourse now.....
