For some reason my van battery is dead,I've thought it was a door didn't get closed, nope not the problem, weather it's really cold, maybe.no happens in the summer too.now my van is dead but the headlights and tail lights are on ,even with the switch in the off position. This van has been full of problems pretty much since i got it a year ago. and no one can tell me why this and other problems are happening and can't find a way to fix it either.

I was driving the power went out on the radio, I blew the horn at someone the horn would not stop blowing. parked the van it would not start back up. There was no warning lights. I call the mechanic who says replace the battery. Ok now i replace the battery i am up and running. Well night falls I have to turn on the lights, the battery light blinks once then doesn't come back on, the radio goes out, I then lose my turn signal lights, and the dash boards lights go extremely dim. When I park the van turn off the ignition the doors won't unlock the head lights won't turn off. I climb to the back of the van to manual let myself out of the van. I have to get my neighbor to disconnect the battery. I call the mechanic again and he states he doesn't know what it might be maybe a short. I don't want maybe's, i need assurance i work two jobs, with four kids, and going through a nasty divorce. I changed the battery because of an assumption and now they want to assume again as if i can afford to keep putting money out for assumptions and pay for a tow truck. Please help me anyone.

my vehicle was at Ford twice this past Spring and Summer. In spring, they did electric test and some basic things to the tune of $400.00. They said the electric test did not or could not diagnose the problems of the ticking noise in the dash or why the lights were staying on after the car turned off, or what was causing the NEW battery to keep going dead and having to disconnect it. They said I needed a Front A/B electric control module and the part was obsolete and the electric test was no good with that being bad. So I searched and ordered one on ebay. The van stayed at the dealership for 4 WEEKS before they attempted to put it in. They did not even know where to put it. Then they were supposed to rerun the electric test, that I had paid for before, again. They did not. They say because the box did nothing to solve any problems. So I brought it home and wrote to Ford. The deaker told me if they could actually diagnose it they would have to take apart the dash or whatver and it would cost me $1500.00 to take it apart !!! just to diagnose the problems!!! Ford has done nothing to help me so I can sell this van in good working order.
