At this point i feel like i have no where to turn, i took my car in to ford to have an recall done, it took like a month to get them to take it in as they were so busy, when i got it in they asked which recall , well now i only knew of one,, they took the van in , and told me it would be ready in two day's , when i called to see when i could pick it up they told me they would call me back , then i get a call saying i need to come in for a rental car, my rear end axle was cracked, ford had my van four month's , i drove by and saw my van sitting in a rear parking lot with tons of snow on it doing a winter blizzard , i was happy when i got the call saying it was ready, when they pulled it up for pick up , i got in drove off and wow, it sounded like i was driving on the frame with no tires , before that i notice another recall , sub frame , i asked what about that they was very unkind , and said it's done, but i still have all this noise going on, i had breaks and rotors repaired, the noise is still there , then i noticed i can't turn the wheel like it should and the van sounds like it's screaming when i turn the wheel, i call ford and some one told me to take it back that the file on the sub frame was still open, then another person at ford told me the inspections been done and if i take it back i would have to pay for the inspection, i ask ford to buy it back , as i learn they should have offer a buy back with the rear in axle, i asked they told me i can't get a buy back, and that's was before they replaced the axle, now, they won't inspect it again and they won't buy it back, now they told me only a few people they choose to buy they vans back and that i was not one, so now what am i to do, i think ford should be boycotted until they handle the problem these vans have had six recalls , and now how many more to come, i have no money to buy another van, my sister was dying and i didn't have a car to go see her that much she told me one day you would have a car , she said you'll see, not knowing she had left a policy for me to buy a car with until the next day after her death , and this money is what i purchase that van with, i know my sister wanted me to have a car but sad to say i still don't have a car, these cars have bad transmission in them too , this van has had two transmission done , what has ford created ? a lemon ? i would never trust ford again after this.

Windstar LEX 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

Mechanics at two different places fixed axles at one and inner control arms and tie rods at another until one mentioned seeing teh Traction Control light on in the dash when it was making the noise. The sound is just the ABS brakes compensating for slippage of the right tire when turning. I haven't tried it yet, but a new tire might fix the noise. Also, there is a switch on dashboard to turn off traction control if desired and I will try that.
