: the contact stated while driving 30 mph, metal was observed sticking out of the driver side and passenger side front tires. The tire pressure was regularly checked, and the tires were rotated at 6,300 miles. There was neither vibration while driving nor abnormal bulging in tires. The vehicle was taken to the independent shop who determined that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and the tires needed to be replaced. The tire manufacturer was alerted. Make: Big "O", model: Euro tour, size: P215-70-15.

When the consumer took the vehicle for Ford recall the service person pointed out an 8-9 inches split in the outside tread area of the right front tire and informed consumer that the tire was unsafe to drive and defective, consumer is requesting reimbursment. (general tires amri GS60 P215/70R15).

Consumer was traveling about 70mph on highway and heard a noise. Left front tire tread separated. He inspected other tires and noiticed stress marks. General, tire ameri gs 60, P21570R/15#E4,02906. He was able to pull over, and noticed this problem. Dealership is aware of problem. Tire was under proper inflation at time of failure, the rim was damaged and replaced due to the tread separation.
