Dot# plx05jhr4007, M6X05jhr2008/0708 Goodyear assurance comfortred 225/60R16 tires. Separated by splitting on first semi rim/tread groove. Improper design to have groove there. Tread grooves today are now closer to center of tire because of the less flexing compared to the assurances rim groove too close to the rim. It splits and separates. Bad design flaw. Tires in question have 8 and 9/32 of tread remaining.

Traveling 70 mph on the front driver side tire, rim, and all lugnuts just flew off. I went into a ditch. Major damage. I am discovering that this is a common issue with these vans and I plan to sue Ford.

Pep boys touring SE tire separation. While traveling on the highway at 70 mph the tire separated causing temporary loss of control. The separating tread caused $2,500 in damage to the vehicle. All four tires were purchased from pepboys, Sierra vista, AZ 85635, Oct 2004 and have approximately 10,000 miles on them. It appears that the other front tire may be getting ready to separate because I am getting the same feel in the steering wheel that I experienced before the first tire failed. Pepboys of yuma, AZ prorated the failed tire and mounted the replacement tire.

Right from the day I bought the van, I have had one issue or the other. Here are some of the major issues. 1. tires - my new van had bumps on all 4 tires. Every tire dealer told me they would burst on driving. They were general tires. I went to Ford many times and opened a case with them also to no avail. After 12,000 miles, I decided to buy 4 new tires myself for the safety of my family at my own expense. 2. at 15,000 miles, I had to get my front brakes changed as they had reached their end of life. 3. at 15,000 miles, I also had to get my transmission fluid as well as drop pan changed as they worn out 4. at 30,000 miles, I had to get my front brake pads again changed (these were also worn out). What is surprising is that my rear brakes are fine 5. at 30,000 miles, I also had to get my transmission fluid as well as drop pan changed as they worn out 6. at 40,000 miles, my check engine light came on, for which I had to get the entire cooling system changed as well as had major engine work done to remove the light. The bill was in a few thousand, and I still don't know what they did to get it all fixed 7. at 45,000 miles, I had to get front rotors and brakes again. 8. at 45,000 miles I also had to get my front tie rods changed as they were squeaking 9. my automatic door sensor has never worked since I bought the van. If you shut the doors using the electronic door openers, and if something is in the way, it will still shut the door trapping the item, rather than reversing the process. 10. my drivers side power seats have just failed, and I am yet again faced with a large expense. I will never buy a Ford again

I experienced many flats with these Ford factory Goodyear tires. Finally I had a dangerous blowout in the carpool lane on a freeway in orange county, calif. I immediately replaced the tires with big O tour plus tires. I haven't had another flat since. I had called Ford and Goodyear before the blowout, complaining about many flat tires. They said it was normal wear and tear. I disagree. I have the four tires and receipts for proof. I believe the factory Goodyear tires are dangerously soft. I am fortunate my wife and I didn't have an accident when the Goodyear tire blew. Can you help us get some response from Goodyear & Ford?

All four of these general ameri GS60 genseal tires were in dangerous condition, as certified by two tire dealers, after less than 16,000 miles. The tires had been maintained with proper inflation and rotation throughout their life but both dealers said all four showed dangerous rot on sidewalls and signs of tread separation. General offered to replace all four at no cost but would offer only the same tires as replacement which I declined. I had brought the tires to dealers to have them rebalanced after the vehicle began to shake at speeds of about 75 mph. I declined general's offer because I did not want the same tires back on the vehicle after all four had failed. I believe Ford was negligent in failing to record key facts about the failure of these tires despite my attempts to offer the information on their customer service line. Ford never asked for or accepted information about the tire models that had failed or any other information. They simply referred me to general. The tires were oem equipment when I bought the car.
