For years the check advance trac system light would bing. I would take it into the dealership and they never found anything. So...I learned to ignore it and would just turn it off on the dashboard when it happened. Then, about 6 months ago, I had just turned a corner and was going 20-25 mph. when my advance trac stuttered brakes engaged and slammed my car to a dead stop. If someone had been behind me they would have rear ended me. In 5 minutes I would have been on the interstate and a move like that would have flipped my car. I had NO control over the car and even left a patch where the car stopped. I was attempting to turn in a driveway to turn around and it happened again. We took it to the dealership and $3000 later they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I was to bring it in if the warning came on again, keep the car running, and they would hook it up to their computer to see what was wrong. I did that and they supposedly fixed it again, (this time for no extra charge). A month or so later it happened again. I was finally told that they didn't know what to do. Two weeks ago the van stuttered, brakes engaged again 4 times in the matter of 2 miles. I am afraid to drive this car and will be getting a new one...not a Ford because they didn't know how to fix this one. Adding insult to injury, my daughter informed me that her car, not a Ford, had been recalled for faulty brake sensors. The stutter brakes would engage stopping the car. The sensors were replaced at no charge and all was well. I was told the sensors were $1000 each plus labor...probably why Ford didn't want to deal with it.

The brake a b s sensors have been replaced due to failure. The rear brake drums have been replaced due to wear. Rotors have been replaced due to wear. pads replaced several times. The rear brake drum now pulsates when applying the brake peddle. This van should be recalled due to the number of complaints about the brakes.
