The contact noticed that the rear drivers side wheel was abnormally tilted inward. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the axle was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 12V193000 (power train). The approximate failure and current mileage was unknown. Updated 03/26/14 the consumer stated cracks in the rear axle, were not visible and re-enforcement repairs were done, to the rear axle and front subframe lower control arm. However, the repair failed, while the consumers husband was driving. Ford wouldn't pay for the repairs. They stated they had already full-filled their obligations, when they made the re-enforcement. Braking distance suddenly increased. Anti-lock brake system is only intermittently functional. Defective ABS ECM. Well known issue per the Ford dealer. After a few minutes of driving, the ABS becomes non-functioning. This happens 90+% of the times that the vehicle is driven.

I have had other electrical problems as well. Windows do not work all of the time. Also ran this by Ford. They wanted $80 for each electric issue. Would of cost me $400 just to see what was causing the problem. I did my own research on line and found out this was a very common problem. Seems to me the dealer did not really need to run the diagnostic and should have had a good idea as to what was causing the problem. I have not had a fire yet but may not be around of this issue does cause a fire. Seems odd a recall has not occurred yet. Typical though, usually it takes a death to get government agencies to respond. Maybe this time you can act sooner rather than later.
