Acadia

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

Purchased this 2008 Acadia in January of 2012 with 80,000miles already on it. Have had several instances of the Stabilitrack Traction Control light turning on. Mainly when it is wet and cold outside. It sucks because when this happens I lose my traction control completely! Most of the time when I turn the vehicle off it will go back to normal until it decides to act up again. However, just a couple days ago(in dry, warm weather) it happened while I was traveling 45mph down a hill. Not only did those lights come on and off but so did my CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM! Took it immediately to the mechanic and because there were no check engine lights on the code reader would not pick up any codes. Mechanic is unsure of what to do because they can not get it to happen while it is in their possession! This problem has not been solved. I also made a complaint about the power steering.

Acadia V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,000 miles

The dealership doesn't know why the check engine and service stabilitrack lights are perpetually on.

They worked on it once - January 23rd - and it started up again the next day. I've had it in since, but they have no idea what to do.

I've been researching the problem and have read that it may be a wiring problem that would require pulling the engine. I've also read that the engine can blow if it isn't taken care of...

When I talked to the dealership about trading the Acadia in on an Enclave, I was told they're basically the same car with the same problems... I guess the biggest difference is the price!

The bottom line is that GMC knows there's a design flaw and they're "working on it."

Minnesota has a lemon law, and I'm checking it out...
