This problem coincided with our complete transmission failure. Ford service automatically replaced the water pump under warranty.
I performed all of my own oil changes and did not notice water in the oil at any time. But there was water in the oil basically the day the transmission went out.

Water pump went out on us in the middle of nowhere. Took a while for a tow truck, and another while to the nearest repair place.

Water pump goes, I'm with my wife, my 2 year old and my 9 year old. Anti-freeze is just pouring out of the water pump. Car is over heating. I find a gas station pour in anti freeze just so i can get home. I have the car towed for free under warranty to get the problem fixed. But they want to charge me because i put the wrong anti-freeze in it. Go f - yourself GMC and your dealers. Stay away from this car, nothing but problems, Also had the transmission replace a couple of thousand miles later.

Water Pump was leaking and causing a overheating problem. Luckily, it was covered under a long extended warranty by GM. That means they knew about the problem, long time ago.
