Acadia SLT2 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 136,000 miles

Vehicle started to run sluggish as if it was misfiring or running out of gas, then the traction control and stabilitrac lights came on. Occasionally the check engine light would come on and flash to indicate "limp mode", so I would turn it off and restart it after a couple minutes. Sometimes that would help for several days at a time but then became more and more frequent to the point every time I started the vehicle the lights would be on and I couldn't drive more than 5 mph.

I had the vehicle diagnosed and worked on at a small mom and pop shop nearby and they told me that the Fuse Box under the hood was shorting out causing the sluggish driving and lights coming on. After replacing it with a new one ($550), I am happy to say I am running smooth again on the highway. I am very confident they have solved the issue on this one.

Hope this helps someone out there.

Acadia SLT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

This is the fifth occurrence of Engine power reduced and Traction Control Off and Service Stabilitrak in the past year. Four of the 5 instances happened while the car was idling in park for several minutes, and one event occurred while in drive but waiting for the traffic light to change. The immediate cure was to turn the car off and wait 30 seconds before re-starting. This worked 4 of the 5 times. Today I had to try restarting 3 times before clearing the problem. From what I am reading online I see that this is a common issue. What is the cure and when will they issue a recall?

Not the first or last complaint, I'm sure regarding a broken motor mount, how could this happen? Doesn't seem like this would or could break!

Acadia SLT 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,705 miles

I don't know what's wrong ... the lights on engine and stabilik track and traccion control ...and my motor is running really slow like 35... I'm paid like $2200 with the mechanic but the problem is coming up again...I'm really sad because I love my Acadia but it is really a bad experience. I won't buy any more GM, again. :(

Acadia V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,000 miles

My car was running sluggishly and OnStar sent me a vehicle report recommending I get it serviced immediately... And so I did.

They replaced the oil and some parts and told me I'd have to change the oil every 3,000 miles instead of every 5,000 miles. They said there's an engineering problem with the air intake that allows moisture to mix with the oil. My oil was the consistency of thick mucus. That's not the word they used, if you get my meaning...

I just had it in again, and they said their engineers are working on the problem, but there's not much more they can do besides have me change the oil more often.

I put a lot of miles on my vehicles. I need them to be comfortable as well as reliable. That's why I've bought Buick and GMC the last few times.

This isn't the only ongoing problem I'm having with this vehicle. I liked the Acadia and planned on keeping it for work after I paid it off. Not anymore! Apparently they aren't meant to last more than 100,000 miles!

I'm looking at new cars from other manufacturers now.
